ABC has pulled The Nine from its schedule, the network announced Saturday. In the series’ place this Wednesday, November 29, will be the 20/20, with a permanent replacement TBA.
ABC pulled The Nine for the last week of the pivotal sweeps period, when ratings samples are taken to determine ad prices for the next year. The network says the show will return later in the season.
The Nine has struggled in the ratings since its premiere October 4. The pilot scored a meager 4.0, outpacing NBC’s since-canceled Kidnapped but losing almost 50 percent of its Lost lead-in. Nine then sunk to a 3.2 weekly average.
