Astronauts arrive in Florida for launch

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER Astronauts have arrived in Florida ahead of their launch scheduled for Thursday aboard space shuttle Discovery.

NASA is planning its first nighttime launch in four years to start the 12-day mission to the international space station.Discovery astronauts will rewire the space station, bring up an eleven-(m)-million-dollar addition and drop off astronaut Sunita Williams for a six-month stay. German astronaut Thomas Reiter (toh-MAHS’ RY’-ter) of the European Space Agency has been living at the space station since July. He’ll take Williams’ place aboard Discovery for the trip back to Earth.The countdown clock is set to begin ticking tomorrow night.
