Another three letter domain name bites the dust - wtf.com
APRIL FOOLS!
Well, I guess nothing lasts forever… Though truth is, I never through this would happen quite so soon.
A site I used to be staff on, wtf.com, has recently sold it’s domain name to everyone’s favorite evil search giant, Google.com and the sale closed more than 3 weeks ago.
While the old site, a nice place to rant and debate, has a potential future at a new location (due to the site’s content not being part of the purchase price), I guess I shouldn’t get that down in the dirt about it but still. I’ll really miss wtf.com as it was and I can’t help but think that the best was behind us…
Anyways, I guess I can only imagine what I’d do in a similar situation and I couldn’t see myself keeping the domain name if it would mean I could pursue new dreams of mine. However, I can’t help being REALLY curious as to the specifics of the deal that had been made, but as contracts go (and the legion of Google lawyers available at the snap of a finger) I’m sure there’s agreement in place that all parties will adhere to.
Hats off to you wtf.com - I sure hope you can aquire omgwtfbbq.com and continue to accomplish great things…
